DC Fridge, case study cover

DC Fridge came to us disappointed with his previous web designer’s work. That designer had built an e-commerce site on WordPress that didn’t meet expectations. Many features relied on apps that needed constant updates to keep functioning, which led to frequent breakdowns and forced him to monitor the site constantly just to keep it working.

We proposed migrating his content and products to Shopify, which doesn’t carry the same issues and offers additional functionality, including inventory management and advanced shipping settings. Shopify is built as an e-commerce platform from the ground up, which is why we recommend it for all our e-commerce clients.

We started by carefully exporting DC Fridge’s extensive product catalogue to Shopify, then spent considerable time reviewing and improving the product descriptions to help him become the leading destination for DC appliances in Australia.

We drew on his deep industry knowledge to identify and target the keywords customers actually search for, helping him rank well in organic search and keep driving traffic to the site. We also rebuilt the product pages as longer, landing-page-style layouts that highlight his additional services, like installation and repairs. We crafted his About page to showcase his expertise, giving customers confidence they were buying from someone who genuinely cared about the appliances he sold, much as they cared about their caravan, RV, or boat.

We added apps to automatically send review request emails to customers, so future buyers could benefit from the reviews he’s earned through hard work and strong customer service. Since our initial work with DC Fridge, we’ve redesigned his site several times within his budget, continued optimising his SEO, and helped him add new products as his business has expanded.
